Activities

Conservation Education

Painted Dog Conservation has been actively teaching the children at Sianyanga about conservation, a focus on sustainability and the significance of biodiversity.  They visit our school routinely and teach the children about wildlife in general and the long-term negative effects of poaching.

Through their teachings, they have helped develop love for nature among and the importance of protecting the wildlife.

Community Teamwork

The school staff, students and members of the Sianyanga village maintain a shared garden on the school grounds. Together, we teach the children about self-sufficiency, nutrition, the art of gardening, and value of helping each other.  Our garden produces vegetables for us to enjoy.

When repairs or maintenance of our school are needed, the local families give a helping hand with all these needs.

We also work together to support our food programme.

It takes many hands and dedication to meet the needs of our school and community.

Health Education Club

We have a Health Education Club to teach the children of many different physical and social topics that affect our community and the world.  We discuss AIDS awareness, prevention of HIV and AIDS, using peer influence to correct and change behavior patterns, educating against stigmatization of those who are affected and infected with HIV and AIDS, also the issue of nutrition gardens,

We offer guidance and counseling through drama, music, poetry, role play and other methods.
